YANTRA is a collection of kitchen-related textiles, including napkins, tea towels, and oven mitts, created in collaboration with London-based design studio Tiipoi.
Commissioned by Piercy & Co for the reception at Exchange House - part of British Land’s Broadgate estate, the woven tapestry designs abstract the distinctive structural elements of Exchange House's parabolic arches, steel trusses and beams. Bold geometric shapes repeat and diminish in size, with ten patterns representing the ten storeys of the building.
FALLING SHADOWS & COSMIC CHECK for FLOOR_STORY
Falling Shadows draws on arches, openings and architectural forms are picked out with a clean linear aesthetic and simple palette of dual colours.
On the other hand, Cosmic Check is a collection of dancing colours and distorted checkerboard patterns, strikingly contemporary yet drawn from the ancient Indian cosmic arts and board games like Moksha Patam (snakes and ladders).
